Bobby Silvis Earns Charger of the Week (Feb. 24- March 1)

Sophomore baseball standout, Bobby Silvis, earned his first career Charger of the Week Award presented by The Crab Shack during Wednesday's practice. Silvis joins his teammate, Mario Tostado, as the second recipient of the award from the baseball team this season.

The Sophmore second baseman had an outstanding two days at the plate when Cypress played a home and home matchup vs. College of the Canyons. The first game was on Tuesday, February 25, when the Chargers defeated the Cougars 15-6. Silvis had a large impact on that victory as he doubled twice to knock in three runs for Cypress. The second matchups between the two colleges was on Tuesday, where the El Dorado alum went 5 for 6 and scored three runs. Silvis also notched 3 doubles and 4 RBI's in the game that ended in a 11-11 tie. 

Bobby Silvis is comfortable and confident at the plate as he is the lead off hitter for high powered Chargers offense. Silvis currently ranks second in batting average in the OEC where he it hitting .451. He will look to help Cypress sweep the Fullerton Hornets tomorrow, Saturday March 7, when the Chargers travel to Fullerton.
