No. 7 Chargers Drop Series to Dons

CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress College baseball team dropped the second game of its three-game series against visiting Santa Ana College on Wednesday afternoon, 7-2. The loss gives Santa Ana the edge in the series as they took game one over Cypress on Tuesday. However, the Chargers will look to get a much needed road win in game three on Friday to move up in the OEC standings.

The Chargers had no answers for the Dons on Friday. Sophomore right-hander Riley Ohl (L, 4-2) gave up five runs on seven hits in four innings of work, while the Dons' Nathan Cachu (W, 1-3) was lights out in his first win of the season, allowing just two runs on seven hits in 6.1 innings.

Cypress continued to get on base, but struggled to bring in runs, leaving 11 runners stranded on the day. Sophomore outfielder Aaron Lizarraga (3-for-5, RBI) and freshman infielder Greg Lamb (3-for-4) were the lone bright spots for the Chargers offense on Wednesday.
