Tylor Megill earned his first Charger of the Week (Mar. 7-13) after an outstanding performance on the mound to help Cypress College defeat Riverside on Saturday 9-4.
In eight innings of work, Megill struck out nine batters, gave up one walk, and was charged with only one run. This was also Megill's longest outing of the season. Megill's accuracy was on point, which allowed him to mix his pitch selection and keep the opposing hitters guessing. Even though the Tigers managed to string a couple hits and capitalize on some fielding errors, Megill managed to limit their production and cut their rallies abruptly.
The Los Alamitos alumnus is 6-0 this season with a 2.72 ERA and 33 total strikeouts.
