Baseball Dominates Merced, 15-3

Cypress, CA- The Cypress College baseball team (7-1) won their seventh consecutive game after crushing the Merced College Blue Devils (2-6) 15-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Tyler Megill (3-0) struck out eight Blue Devils in six and a third innings while allowing only five hits. Elijah Skiips went 2-4 including a two-run homer that cleared the center field wall with room to spare in the bottom of the third and an RBI triple in the bottom of the fifth.

Merecd struck first in the top of the third inning as Richy Mena scored on a fielder's choice. However, that lead would be short lived. With a runner on first base in the bottom of the third inning, Paul Gomez belted a double to deep left field scoring Nathan Rodriguez. Two batters later, Aaron Case grounded out to shortstop scoring Paul Gomez. Nick Reeser added a three-run homerun in the bottom of the eighth and Cypress didn't look back en route to a 15-3 victory.
