Chargers Comeback to Defeat El Camino 6-5
Cypress- The Cypress College baseball team (10-2) won their third straight game on Saturday afternoon against El Camino (8-3).
Both teams got off to a quick start, putting up a combined seven runs in the second inning as the Chargers led 4-3 heading into the third. El Camino would then take a 5-4 lead after scoring two runs in the top of the sixth inning. However, the Chargers were able to rally and load the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning. Joe Vanmarter hit a sac fly that scored Brandon Brintz to tie the game, followed by an Aaron Case walk off sac fly that allowed pinch runner Nathan Kuchta to score the winning run. Aaron Case led the Chargers with three hits, one run, and two RBI in five at bats.
The Chargers will start OEC play with a home game on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 2:00 pm against Golden West, followed by a game on the road Saturday, Feb. 28 at 12:00 pm against Saddleback.
