Chargers Bounce Back With Win Against Desert, 22-1
Cypress - The Cypress College baseball team (8-2) defeated the Desert Roadrunners (1-9) on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 22-1. 
Desert started off the game quickly by scoring a run in the top of the first inning, but Cypress responded with three runs of its own in the bottom of the first inning, followed by nine more in the bottom of the second to take a 12-1 lead. The Chargers were able to add ten more runs to their total and walk away with a convincing 22-1 win over Desert. Joe Vanmarter led the team with four hits in six at bats and Blake Ronca added three hits, including a home run and six RBI. 
This is the Chargers second game of the season scoring over 20 runs (W 21-1 vs. Merced). The last time Cypress had two or more games with at least 20 runs was back in 2000 when they defeated Saddleback 20-6 and Rio Hondo 21-2. In all, the Chargers have scored 55 runs combined in the last three games. 
The Chargers home stand will continue this week against Glendale on Friday, Feb. 20 at 2:00 pm, followed by El Camino on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 12:00 pm.
