Thirteen Baseball Players From 2014 Team Earn Scholarships to Four-Year Universities

Thirteen sophomores from Head Coach Scott Pickler's 2014 baseball team have earned scholarships to four-year universities. Eight of those 13 will be playing for NCAA Division I teams this coming spring, while the remaining five will be competing for NAIA and NCAA Division II teams.

 

Over the past 19 years, Pickler has helped nearly 220 players earn scholarships to four-year universities, highlighted by a high of 18 in 2010.

 

Heading to NCAA Division I universities are Dalton Douty (San Diego State), Joe Duffin (Connecticut), Matt Esparza (UC Irvine), Kramer Ferrell (West Carolina), Stephen Kane (Tennessee), Payton Lobdell (Incarnate Word), John Miller (Youngstown State) and Brandon Moronos (Houston Baptist).

 

Ryan Hartman is playing for NAIA school Lindsey Wilson, while Conner Fraser (San Francisco State), Trevor Meleski (Cal State LA), Blake Mitchell (Northwest Nazarene) and Matt Tietz (Lynn University) will be competing at the NCAA Division II level.
