The year in review

Cypress, CA - The Chargers closed out the 2012-13 season on a dramatic note with the baseball team taking home the State Championships banner. Only two weeks ago, Jacelyn Youngerman took home the State title in the 50M Free and shattered several school records.  Charger Diver Pierce Gruettner claimed thrid place in the 3-meter event.  The Golf team sent Fidel Rodriguez to the State tournament which he finished 21st in the State. The young Men's Tennis team sent the double team of Ajae Panis and Christian Ramirez to the Regionals at Ojai.  The Women's team also sent the double team of Jasmine Singh and Devan Johnson to Ojai. The Softball team came into the season defending their 3-Peat State title but was eliminated in the Regionals. The Women's Basketball Team won the Conference title and was upset by Moorpark in the first round of the Regional Playoffs. The Men's Basketball team welcomed new coach Chris St Clair who was promoted from the assistant coach rank to replace retiring coach Paul Bottiaux.  The Men's Soccer team opened the season with three consecutive victories and was damped by injuries, coach Ed Kephart expected the team to do well next year with a lot of returnees. The Women's Soccer team started the season 10-0-2 and finished second in the conference and went to the second round of the Regional playoffs. The Volleyball team ended the season fourth in conference and made the Regional playoffs. The Water Polo team had the most successful record in the history of the program, ranked 10th in the state and advanced to the second round of the Regional Playoffs.

Quick Facts:

Volleyball (12-14, 8-6), Conference 4th place, Regional Playoffs.

Water Polo (12-17, 2-5), Conference 5th place, #10 in Southern Region.

Women's Soccer (16-3-3, 12-2-2), Conference Runner-Up, 3 players made First-Team All-Conf

Men's Soccer (7-10-4, 4-9-1), mostly Freshmen, team expected to do well next season.

Women's Basketball (21-9, 11-1), Conference Champions, Regional Playoffs.

Men's Basketball (5-23, 0-12), new coach, many Freshmen, expected good year next season.

Women's Tennis (5-14, 2-10), Freshmen only on roster, sent 2 players to Ojai.

Men's Tennis (0-16, 0-11), Freshmen dominant team, sent 2 players to Ojai, expected big improvement next season.

Baseball (32-14, 11-10), State Champions!

Women's Swim and Dive, State Champon in 50M Free.

Men's Swim and Dive, State 3rd place 3-meter event.

Golf, 4th place Conference, one player finished 21st at State.

Softball (33-9, 18-3), Conference Runner-Up, Regional Playoffs.
