Mt SAC beat Chargers in 10th

Mission Viejo, CA - The Chargers dropped their opening game against the Mounties of Mt San Antonio 4-3 in 10 innings. They are now in the loser bracket and will face the loser of the Saddleback-Canyons game which will be played later tonight. The Chargers put three runs on the board in the top of the 3rd. Brandon Morones led off with a double in h right center gap.  Tyler Schultz bunt singled and Morones went o 3rd base. On the ensuing activities, Parker Starr singled, Jonathan Torres walked and Blake Davey singled to produce three runs on four hits to let the Chargers sitting on 3-0 lead. The Mounties chipped back in the bottom of the 5th when they scored a run on a sacrifice fly by Derek Goodwin.  They added two more runs in the bottom of the 6th on a 2-run shot from Cameron Pong over the right field fence to tie the game at 3-3.  The Chargers got on bases but left seven men on bases the rest of the way which proved to hurt them in the end. In the top of the 10th, Sam Tolleson hit a 2-out single and stole 2nd only to be left on base. With two outs in the bottom of the 10th, the Mounties put two runners on 1st and 2nd, and Cesar Murillo cut a walk-off single to left to win the game.

The Chargers are in the loser bracket and face the loser of the Saddleback-Canyons game tonight on Saturday morning.  Canyons seeded 13th upset 4th seeded San Bernardino to advance into the Super Regionals.
