Chargers dominated in game 1 beating Cuesta 8-3

San Luis Obispo, CA - The Chargers got into playoffs shape and defeat a strong Cuesta hitting squad 8-3 to take a 1-0 lead in the best of three Regional Series. Stephen Kane threw a no-hitter for 6 innings.  Andrew Montanari laid down a bunt single to lead off the bottom of the 7th and ended Kane's no-hit bid. The Chargers were riding on 8-0 lead and the Cougars (21-16) scored two runs in that inning to cut be lead to 8-2. Marc Murillo scored on a sac fly by Parker Hindle in the bottom of the 8th, but the Chargers (24-13) hung on to make it the final score.

The Chargers broke the game opened by scoring seven runs on seven hits in the top of the 3rd. Twelve Charger batters came to bat, four singles and three doubles were produced.  Brandon Morones singled twice and stole second twice in the same inning.  Andrew Nelson took the loss for the Cougars, allowed 9 hits, 8 earned runs, struck out 6 and threw a complete game. Kane threw 7 innings, struck out 8' allowed 2 hits, 2 walks and only 1 earned run to be 12-0 on the season.
