Fullerton dropped Cypress 12-6 and remained in first

Cypress, CA - The first place Hornets came into Cypress remembering what happened two days earlier when the Chargers beat them 12-6. They returned the favor by pounding six runs in the first two inning en route to a 12-6 victory over the Chargers (22-12, 10-9). The Chargers down 6-1, going into the bottom of the fourth inning, took advantage of a Horner error and pounded four hits by scoring three runs to cut the lead to 6-4. Blake Davey, Brandon Morones and Sam Tolleson came during the rally. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Chargers loaded the bases with one out and Parker Starr scored on a fielder's choice by Tolleson, and Dylan Moore scored on a single by Morones to tie the game at 6-6. The Hornets however broke the game opened by scoring five runs on four hits and took advantage of a Charger error. The Hornets (24-10, 14-5) continued the barrage of four hits in the top of the eight and scored another run. The Chargers' loss kept them in fourth place with the final two games of the season against Santa Ana next week, Fullerton remained in first and led Riverside by two games.
