Chargers defeated Golden West 6-3

Cypress, CA - The Chargers utilized a 14-hit attack to beat conference foe Golden West 6-3 in a crucial game for both teams. The victory pushed the Chargers to 8-8 in conference and 20-11 overall and stayed one game from second place. Trailing 1-0 going in tot the bottom of the 3rd inning, the Chargers went to work with Robert Chavarria reached 1st on a single, then Parker Starr hit into the center left gap for a double and scored Chavarria. Two batters later, Blake Davey singled to score Starr and the Chargers took a 2-1 lead. On the ensuing inning, Dylan Moore singled and stole second base, then came home on a single by Tyler Schultz to take the lead 4-1. The Rustlers refues to go away and scored 2 runs in the Top of fifth to cut the lead to 4-3. The Chargers added three insurance runs in the 7th and 8th by Trent Zaks, Sam Tolleson and Moore to secure the victory. Nick Rogowski came in relief for three innings, striking out five while allowed no walk or hit to earn the win.
