LONG BEACH, CA – The Cypress College beach volleyball team (5-5, 1-1 OEC) had a strong showing at the Granada Beach Courts in Long Beach on Friday.

The No. 9 Lady Chargers picked up two wins in three matches, defeating Westcliff University and No. 5 Rio Hondo, each by the score of 4-1. Cypress' lone loss came against No. 2 Long Beach City College, 5-0.

The Chargers' No. 1 (Khamis Berneker/ Brittany Zavala) and No. 4 (Kayla Owens/Danielle Gomez) pairs had big-time performances to pace Cypress, each going 2-1 on the day.
