Chargers Pick Up Two OEC Wins in Friday Triple-Header

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – The Cypress College beach volleyball team continued Orange Empire Conference play on Friday morning at the Newland Courts in Huntington Beach, where they finished the day 2-1.

The Lady Chargers won a battle with the Santa Ana College Dons to begin the day. The match came down to the #3's, who were the last to finish in a back and forth third set, but the freshman duo of Woodward/Georgopoulos got it done for the Chargers with their team looking on.

Cypress lost their second match of the day to rival Golden West, who shared last year's OEC Title with the Chargers, 4-1. Woodward/Georgopoulos picked up the only victory of the match for the Chargers. However, Cypress bounced back with a strong performance in their third and final match of the day against the Hornets, 5-0.

Beach Volleyball is set to resume action at the Newland Courts (HB) on Friday, April 6 when they take on Orange Coast College and Vanguard University. Games are scheduled for 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.
