WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: HARD CONFERENCE LOSS

Fullerton fell at home Friday night to their district and conference rival Cypress College 63-55.

The Hornets (14-6, 3-2) did their best to keep pace with the Chargers throughout the game, but Cypress managed to take game one in the Orange Empire Conference season series.

Cypress took a 10-point lead with 8 minutes left in the first half, but FC cut into their lead by halftime 30-26.

The Chargers took another 10-point lead (40-30) at the 15:01 mark and never relinquished the lead.

The Hornets did not have an answer for Jeana Magana who scored 22 points, but turnovers proved to be the true Achilles heal committing 23 to Cypress' 12.

Noelle Cobb scored a game-high 23 points with 10 boards for a double-double. Kelli Calton and Xochitl Nava each put up 12 points. Nava also brought down 8 rebounds.
