MEN'S BASKETBALL: NEARLY PULLED IT OFF

The Hornets were within striking distance of a much-needed win but could finish in the stretch losing at home to Cypress College Friday night 71-65.

Fullerton (2-18, 0-5) hung tough with the Chargers (9-11, 2-3) throughout the game. They even cut down a 14-point deficit with 6:20 left in the first half. Going on a 11-point tear, FC managed to get within 3 points by halftime 33-30. 

In the second half, Cypress maintained a controlling lead (as much as 13 points/7:41 mark) until Fullerton rallied back within 5 points (63-59) with a 1:13 left in regulation. However, the Chargers held strong for the remainder of the game earning the Orange Empire Conference win.

Ryan Magee led the Hornets in scoring with 16 points and Kristopher Nelson dropped in 15 points. The FC bench was outscored 30-11.

Up Next: Fullerton will travel to Irvine Valley College on Wednesday, January 28th. Tip off will be at 7:00 pm.
