CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress College Athletics Department honored their 2016-17 CCCAA State Champions in the Gym II foyer on Wednesday afternoon.

Individual women's dive state champion Alejandra Gomez, individual men's golf state champion Dylan Hall, and the undefeated softball state championship team were all in attendance as Cypress College President Dr. Robert Simpson, Dean of PE/Athletics Dr. Richard Rams, Athletics Director Bill Pinkham, and Sports Information/Marketing Director Wes McCurtis shared their thoughts on the college's first state championships since 2013.

"It was an honor having our President, Dr. Simpson, our Vice-President Karen Cant and nearly the entire Athletics department participate in the celebration of the success of our athletes," said Dr. Richard Rams.

The Chargers established a brand new tradition as each state champion had the opportunity to flip the state championship counter on the trophy case, located in the newly established Cypress College Athletics Hall of Fame. "It was an honor starting a new tradition that honors our championship history at Cypress College. To add three state championships to our history in one season is a tremendous accomplishment and reflection of excellence at Cypress College," said Dr. Rams.
