Although two Charger teams have concluded their fall campaigns, the season continues for two others as women’s soccer and volleyball head into postseason play.
Women’s Soccer
Women’s soccer heads into playoffs as the No. 6 seed and
will host No. 11 Irvine Valley on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2:00 pm at
Ray Haas field. The two teams split this season with Cypress
winning game one 3-0 and IVC winning game two 1-0. The Chargers
finished second in a very competitive Orange Empire Conference.
Their stingy defense allowed just 10 goals all season.

Women’s Volleyball
The volleyball playoff bracket will be announced on Sunday, but
the Chargers will most likely host a first round game on Tuesday,
Nov. 25 (6:00 pm or 7:00 pm start). Cypress and Golden West each
ended the season with an identical conference record of 10-4, tying
for second-place. Overall, the Chargers are 19-4 on the season. The
bracket will be posted on the CCCAA Women's Volleyball website (http://cccaasports.org/sports/wvball/index)
Sunday night.
Basketball Season is Here
With the fall sports winding down, basketball season is ramping up
and the 5-1 Lady Chargers will host Mt. SAC in their home opener on
Friday, Nov. 21 at 6:00 pm. The game is a rematch of last
year’s CCCAA playoff game which Mt. SAC won 80-62. The
Mounties are ranked No. 1 in the south region, while Cypress is
ranked No. 15. The women are off to a hot start having just won the
Merced Tournament thanks in part to defeating the No. 1 team in the
state, Fresno.
Men’s basketball is also underway. First year head coach Drew Alhadeff starts off the season with six road games and three road tournaments before the team’s home opener on January 9 versus Riverside at 7:00 pm. That game will be part of a doubleheader with the women, which tips off at 5:00 pm.
